Description:
Carved ivory table screen with the Daoist paradise scene on one side, showing that the Eight Immortals gather on the Penglai mountain, identified by the inscription on the gate, while the God of Longevity floats on clouds. The motifs are painted in many colours and are set against a pierced openwork ground. The original mirror on the other side of the screen is covered with a piece of silk embroidery of orchids.
