- Description:
The whole device is like a baby lying on the ground, with his hands folded, his head turned to the right, his back carved with lotus leaves, and his wrists and feet carved with garlands. The cover of the whole vessel is white glazed, white and slightly yellow. There are traces of exposed fetal pads left at the landing of knees and elbows. It is attached with a cotton padded wooden seat. According to the poem written by Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty on the wooden seat, Emperor Qianlong ordered it to be a “couch” for baby pillows, perhaps inspired by the shape of other baby pillows.
