  • Description:
Up to now, archaeological excavations have not found a kiln site that can be clearly named Ge Kiln. However, Wen Qing, who was at the same time as Wen Zhenheng, often paid attention to Ge Kiln when talking about famous kilns in the ancient Song Dynasty. It can be inferred that the Ge Kiln wares appreciated by the Ming people may include the celadon pieces from the official kilns of the Southern Song Dynasty, the official like broken wares produced in the Ming Dynasty and the Longquan Ge Kiln. Even today, it is impossible to confirm which kind of research Wen Zhenheng and others have seen, but from the classification of the Ge kiln wares by Emperor Qianlong, who inherited the Ming Dynasty’s appreciation of the genealogy, it can be understood that the Ge kiln wares enjoyed by the seventeenth century Wen population, who paid attention to the texture of the utensils, are more likely to be the official kilns of the Southern Song Dynasty or the pieces of celadon wares of the Yuan Dynasty that continued the style of the Southern Song Dynasty.
