- Description:
There are towering peaks, clouds and smoke in the valleys, a close view of the water bank, rocks, and huge pine trees. In the flat space, three high-ranking scholars sit on the ground, and another high-ranking scholar comes with a child servant and a piano. There are people climbing with sticks or carrying burdens along the mountain path. In the painting, the rocks are made of ochre and dyed with green stone. The color is gloomy, which adds a simple and unsophisticated flavor. It is said to be the work of Sheng Mao, a landscape painter of the Yuan Dynasty (about the early 14th century). However, from the way of tree and stone modeling and texturing, it is about the work of the late Ming Dynasty in the 17th century.
