Description:
The Dalai Lama’s mother seated behind an elaborately decorated sideboard/desk on which are placed prayer-beads, a potted plant, a dish of small rounded objects, and a china cup with a metal base and lid. The wall behind her is heavily painted with deities (Padmasambhava?) and devotees. She wears a typical Tibetan fur hat, with side flaps, and a floral patterned gown.
