Description:
Official’s hat, circular, with fringe. Top made from pleated red damask silk cloth with ‘shou’ motif (longevity/immortality) worked in gold-coloured metal-wrapped thread. Lengths of red silk forming fringe at outside; longer silk theads in middle. Underside of hat made from yellow wool cloth (tabby, with nap), natural cream tabby cotton cloth (with size), brocade cloth (pink, green silk, and gold-coloured metal-wrapped, yarns), and metal passementerie. Lined with pleated blue tabby cotton cloth with disc of padded cream satin silk cloth in centre.
