- Description:
This is a letter from Su Shi (1037-1101 AD) to Chen Dian (with the word “Ji Chang”). The content is to ask Ji Changdai to explain to Wang Jun why he could not lend Huang Ju’s paintings. To apologize, I enclose a cake of group tea. Group tea is like a round cake, so “cake” is the quantifier. In the middle and late Northern Song Dynasty, the group tea was made with great delicacies, including big and small dragon and phoenix groups and Miyun dragon. At this time, the “Miyun Dragon” was on top of the small dragon group. Dongpo had been given several cakes and wrote a poem: “The small group was given many times, and the dung looked like pearls and jade.” It is a gift to a friend or a group of dragon and phoenix tea, but it is still a noble gift.
