Description:
Fragmentary clay figurine of a monkey. Only the upper part of the figure remains, much of the head has also broken off. The animal is shown holding a type of pan pipes, in China known as paixiao (排簫/排箫) to his mouth. The figure was moulded using red clay and covered with a white slip before being fired.
