Description:
Fragment of a statue moulded in clay and stucco over a fibre backing. This is the head of a Bodhisattva, with the hair parted from the centre and drawn loosely back under a yellow and red headdress made to resemble a fillet of alternating plain and beaded bands. The topknot is broken and the object is generally damaged with the left ear, part of the left eye and points of nose and chin knocked off. The paint on the contrary is very well preserved, black, red and flesh colour being primarily used. Face, nose, eyes and ears are outlined by red lines, the lips are of bright red colour, hair, eyelashes and eyebrows are black.
