Description:
Fragmentary clay figure of a right hand holding a medaillon depicting a seated Buddha. Most fingers of the hand are missing, the creases are deeply incised and marked by a red line. In the palm of the hand is the plaque which shows the Buddha in meditation pose. He is seated before a blue vesica that is surrounded by a white flame border with scrolls in dark red. The head of the Buddha with the clearly visible protuberance is surrounded by a bright green nimbus. His attire is dark red. The material used to make this object is a soft clay mixed with fibres that was moulded around a core of wood.
