Description:
Fragment of relief plaque made of red clay. Shown is the Buddha seated in meditation pose, with crossed legs and both hands placed in the lap. This is the Dhyāna Mudrā, the gesture of meditation. The protuberance on top of the head is clearly visible, but since the plaque is very worn, no further details are discernible. Traces of yellow, black and red paint are still visible but are much faded and have flaked off in many places. The object was made using a mould and is unfired.
