Description:
Clay figurine of a monkey lying on a couch. The couch consists of two lower legs clothed in knee-long breeches and boots. A pillow in the shape of a drum rests across the knees, supporting the head of the monkey. Between its hands, the monkey holds a small drum. Details such as the fur of the monkey but also the decoration of the drum and the breeches were rendered using incised lines. The figure was made using red clay and covered with a light brown slip before being fired.
