Description:
Fragmentary clay plaque in the shape of a woman’s head, shown in full frontal view. Her straight hair is cut into a pointed fringe and part of it falls before her ears, the rest was gathered in a top-knot which is now missing. Cheeks and chin are decorated with an incised dot, other details, such as the strands of hair and the eyebrows were rendered using incised lines. The shape of the plaque suggests that it was used as an appliqué, for instance for a vessel.
