Fan leaf. The artist was noted for his outline-and-wash technique, which he has used in the bamboo leaves and flowers. The quail is much more detailed, its feathers individually picked out. Although this is a naturalistic scene, it probably also carried a wish for peace, indicated by the quail. Dated by inscription. Painted in ink and colours on paper (gold).
