Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:Such dishes were sent to the Near East. Another dish of this type with peonies instead of lotus and with a different arrangement of the central motifs is in the Topkapi Saray Museum, Istanbul. Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray were collected by the Ottoman Sultans through seizure or taxation in kind, or as official presentations or purchases from the Yuan and Ming governments. Altogether there are 1,350 celadons and 1,853 blue-and-wbite wares which date to the Yuan and Ming periods in the collection. A related dish with a band of peonies instead of lotus and with flowers in place of the waves is in the Shanghai Museum.
