Description:
Two small porcelain dishes with underglaze blue decoration. These small dishes are thinly potted, each with a slightly everted rim and recessed base. They are similarly decorated in underglaze blue with a toad squatting on a rock, surrounded by plants and staring up at a butterfly and flying insect in the sky. Outside are two bird-in-branch motifs emanating from the rim. Both dishes are marked with the same four archaic characters in a square: ‘Bo wu zhai zang’ [Collection of the Studio of Many Things].
