Square porcelain dish with enamel decoration. This square dish has flared sides and a recessed base. Black, turquoise, yellow and red overglaze enamels have been used to paint a bird perched on a camellia branch with opposing pairs of prunus and orchids on the sides. Outside it is glazed but not decorated. Such dishes were originally designed to be used for serving food and were probably made in sets of five.
