Description:
A monk / lama dancer’s dress; large, triangular-shaped sleeves. Made from yellow/orange brocaded silk cloth patterned with dragons, flaming pearls, clouds, cranes, an altar (centre back), a roundel with a rooster on the roof of a building, and one with the hare in the moon with pestle and mortar. Green silk brocaded cloth at sleeve ends [13 cms wide] (includes key and fret patterning). Gold metal-wrapped cloth and gold metal strip used. Pleated at hip. The satin bodice somewhat worn and faded. Lined with light blue, and red, tabby cotton cloth. Areas of shattered silk; holes in lining.
