Description:
A dance-cape (‘cloud collar’?) worn by a lama. Square in shape, with round neckline and slit. Ground made from apricot-coloured satin silk cloth with appliquéd motifs and silk thread embroidery. Twenty pear-drop shaped pieces around neckline; a large Chinese character, ‘X’ (worked in gold leaf (?) on animal gut (?) or paper (?), framed by two confronted bats in each corner; scallop-shaped cloud forms at edges. Much of the appliqué outlined in black satin silk cloth; embroidery worked with silk threads and gold-coloured metal-wrapped threads. Lined with natural cream tabby cotton cloth, dirty.
