The Western Qing Inkstone Manual says: “The village stone”. The inkstone is in the style of a jade hall. The stone is yellow and white in color. The quality of the inkstone is fine and moist. The surface and back of the inkstone are denuded. The place where the ink is received is flat and slightly inclined downward to form an ink pool. The back of the inkstone is engraved with a poem written by the Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty. The regular script says: “The denudation is not good enough for the body to be incomplete. The shaped objects are not long and strong. The jade hall guests who use the inkstone in any year can pass through the eight shadow bricks.”. Article title: “Qianlong Wuxu Imperial Title”, seal two: “A few moments of pleasure”, “a good taste”. “Wuxu” was the 43rd year of Qianlong, 1778 AD. According to this, the imperial poems were also recorded in the Eighth Complete Collection of Imperial Poems and Proses of Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty, and the Fourth Volume of Imperial Poems, Volume 79, Page 7, but they were recorded in the Xinchou year of Qianlong, AD 1781.
