- Description:
The Western Qing Inkstone Manual says, “Made of clay in Song Dynasty”, but from the original perspective, it seems to be a work after the Yuan Dynasty. The inkstone is green and white in color. It is long and hand copied. The two tars are short, and the lower end is not blocked. The place where the ink is received is wide and straight, and it is connected with the ink pool. The ink pool is one to seven centimeters deep. There is a circular notch on the upper right side of the inkstone. The Western Qing Inkstone Manual says, “One original five baht coin”, but now it has disappeared, leaving only this trace. Inkstone head wall is engraved with official script: “Song Inkstone”, on the right side of the inkstone is engraved with official script: “Cuitao”, on the left side is engraved with an inscription of Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty, and on the regular script: “Hard and soft, green and flowing, which is used to describe the spring and autumn.” The title: “Emperor Qianlong’s Imperial Knowledge”, the second seal: “A few moments of pleasure”, “a good taste”. This inkstone inscription is also recorded in Emperor Gaozong’s Complete Collection of Imperial Poems and Prose I, the first collection of Imperial Prose, volume 27 pages 6-7. According to this inkstone, in the winter of the 14th year of Qianlong’s reign (1749), the Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty selected the ancient inkstone as the ancient ten inkstone in his inner office. This inkstone is the seventh of them, and the regular script with the character “Geng” is carved in the inkstone box to distinguish it from other inkstones.
