Comments:Flat Land, A Clap of Thunder was the title of of a cartoon drawn by the artist in the 1930s. The Chinese expression means “unexpected calamity.” This painting uses ancient Chinese characters, in the innovative form that Huang Yao referred to as “Wenzi Hua.”
