- Description:
In the first year of Chunyou (1241), Lizong (1205-1264) went to Taixue to write the Thirteen Praise of Taoism, and later ordered Ma Lin (about 1180-1256 later) to draw a picture to demonstrate his political idea of integrating Taoism and political unity. Only five of them remain today, collectively known as the “Five Figures of Taoism”. Among them, the statue of Fuxi is painted by Ma Lin, while the remaining four paintings are not. However, the style of the five images is similar, and there is a personal praise written by Emperor Lizong of the Song Dynasty on the top, obviously painted by the same person. The image of Yu in this painting is magnificent, vigorous and vigorous, which makes the emperor strict. It seems to jump over Chu Su, and is truly the great structure of Ma Lin’s huge vertical axis.
