Mi Fu (1051-1107 AD) changed his name to Fu in the sixth year of Yuanyou (1091 AD). His ancestral home was Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, and he moved to Xiangyang (today’s Xiangfan, Hubei Province). Later, he settled in Runzhou (today’s Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province). He was good at calligraphy and painting, and was a doctor of Huizong’s calligraphy and painting.
