Su Shi (1036-1101 AD) was born in Meishan, Sichuan. Zizhan was named Dongpo Gushi. Guan Zhiduan was a great scholar in the Ming Palace, and his posthumous title was Wen Zhong. Su Shi is well versed in classics and history, works in poetry, and is good at painting and calligraphy. His literary and artistic achievements are rare since ancient times. He, together with his father Xun and younger brother Zhe Shi, was called Sansu, one of the eight greatest calligraphers in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and one of the four greatest calligraphers in the Song Dynasty, along with Huang Tingjian, Mi Fu and Cai Xiang.
