According to the “Guanyin Induction Biography”, in the 12th year of the Tang and Yuan Dynasties, there was a beautiful woman on the narrow West Golden Beach, selling fish with a basket. People wanted to compete with each other. The woman who was willing to marry and recited the “Fahua Sutra” well, only Ma Tzu could recite it, so he ordered a ceremony to get married. At the beginning, a woman will die. An eminent monk told Ma Ziyun that this Avalokitesvara manifestation can transform people’s ears. Therefore, it is also called Malang Fu Guanyin, one of the 33 Guanyin, and the origin of the fish basket Guanyin.
