From archaeological data, The Liangzhu culture, which has developed for about a thousand years, can be divided into two stages, one is the morning and the other is the evening. The biggest change during this period is that the jade bracelets originally put on the wrists or arms have suddenly changed into high square, thick, small holes, and simple patterns, which cannot be put on the wrists. Some symbols related to celestial phenomena are only carved on the round wall and this square column shaped jade ware. It strongly shows that the latter is “jade cong”, and the two should be ritual vessels for sacrificing heaven and earth in groups. This piece is an old collection of the Qing Palace. The whole piece is carved into six small eye lines with double circles and short corners of the eyes. The short horizontal ribs are carved into square patterns to show the nose. It may have been dyed dark brown from the late Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. The bronze gall wood seat was prepared in the Palace of Qing Dynasty for flower planting
