Chen Shizeng Landscape Map Axis

[Chen Shizeng’s Landscape Painting Axis]

The “Landscape Painting” axis, in modern times, is painted by Chen Shizeng, in paper, with colors, 84.8 centimeters vertically and 33.3 centimeters horizontally
The caption at the top of the painting is: “The color of Juran Ma’an Mountain. Mr. Fengzhou belongs to the painting, and he is a master of Zengke.” The seal is stamped with “Shizeng”, “Shizhe”, and “Yining Hengke Seal.” The seal at the bottom right of the painting is “Just a smile.”
This picture imitates the calligraphy of Juran, a famous landscape artist in the Song Dynasty, to draw mountains, valleys, and houses along the river. The ink color is relatively dry, with light colors, moist and elegant, and a fresh and tranquil artistic conception. It is a typical work of literati landscape painting. Chen Shizeng rarely uses a texturing brush when painting landscapes. This picture uses a delicate Pima texturing method to highlight Juran’s brushwork, which is quite different from his usual fast and incisive style of painting.
