Fu Baoshi Songxi Mountain View Axis

[Fu Baoshi Songxi Mountain View Axis]

“Songxi Mountain View Map” axis, modern times, Fu Baoshi painting, paper version, color setting, vertical 115 cm, horizontal 52 cm
The self title of this painting is: “In old age, one can only keep an eye on the mountains. Holding a stone and writing a bitter gourd poem in a mountain retreat on the slope of Vajra.” The seal is “The Seal of Holding a Stone” in white script, and “Often Drunken” in Zhu script
The term “balsam pear” mentioned in the postscript refers to the balsam pear monk, Shi Tao, a painter in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties
The layout of this map is dense, but you can see the overlapping peaks, towering walls, and a line of flying streams hanging upside down between the mountains. The water converges into a stream at the foot of the mountain, murmuring incessantly. The long pine stands tall and graceful, with branches draped in profusion, with the potential to cover the sky and harm the sun. The literati stood on the slab bridge across the two banks and looked at the distance, seemingly impressed by this natural picture. The painter does not seek the delicacy and refinement of his brush and ink skills, but displays the grandeur of mountains and rivers with rough brushwork and concise colors, expressing his sincere love for the motherland
This picture is donated by Mrs. Fu Baoshi, Luo Shihui.
