[Fu Baoshi Landscape Figures Album Page]

The Landscape Figures Album page, modern and contemporary, painted by Fu Baoshi, paper based, colored, 31.6cm vertically, 37.1cm horizontally
The title of this painting is: “The emperor is lighter than his eyes, and the universe is where he belongs. There are only sentences left in the Jiangdong cloth clothing written on the stone.” The seal “Fu” is printed by Zhu Wenyuan, and the seal “Fu” is printed by Zhu Wenyuan. “The work of holding the stone is satisfactory”, and the seal “often drunk” is printed by Zhu Wenyuan
The river in the picture is as flat as a mirror. In a small boat near the shore, the scribes slept on their harps after being drunk, with the books spread out flat in the bow, and wine cups and kettles placed in the stern. A bay of clear water and a tree of green pines are the true portrayal of the attitude of high scholars to stay away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy traveling under the forest
“Jiangdong Cloth Clothes” was painted by Cheng Shen in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and had an impact on Fu Baoshi’s early paintings. Cheng Shen (1605-1691), with the word Mu Qian. Can poetry, landscape painting often thirst for ink, gloomy and ancient. The painter wrote in “Preface to Renwu Chongqing Painting Exhibition”: “Cheng Muqian’s only remaining sentence, ‘The emperor is lighter than the eye, where is the universe?’ I am also very fond of it, and I don’t know how many times I have painted it. I have never encountered one that I am very satisfied with. The one on display is a recent painting, and it is also one that I believe can be established. Of course, my difficulties are due to my lack of skills and mind, and my inability to catch up with the goals I want to achieve. However, it can also be seen that writing poetry from my predecessors is not an easy job to avoid stereotypes.” From this, we can see the painter’s seriousness, humility, and sincerity. This painting is based on simplicity and simplicity, which better reflects the leisurely and comfortable life state of worldly elites. Even if it is not the artwork in the exhibition, it should be a relatively complete interpretation of the poem
