[Dui Ling Xiang Yu Wei Leopard Drama Album]
Dui Ling Xiang Yu Wei Leopard Drama Album, Qing Guangxu, 39cm long, 33cm horizontal. The old collection of the Qing Palace
This is a photo album of Xiang Yu and Wei Bao’s opera images, arranged on two opposite pages. The atlas is made of blue satin, cut and pasted from satin, damask, silk, cardboard, etc. according to the shape of the character, with fillers inside to make the character’s image more plump. The sequins embedded in the clothes and pompons on the hats also make the image more realistic. The use of a pen to depict the face of a character makes up for the lack of artistic effects of heaping damask. The subject matter and technique of this album are very novel, not only in dui damask works, but also rare in all weaving and embroidery paintings.
