[Redwood carved bed with three patterns]
Late Qing Dynasty, 96 cm high, 206 cm long, and 110 cm wide
The entire body of the bed is made of mahogany. The hard drawer on the bed surface is lined with a rattan mat, and there is a waist band under the surface. The waist band is decorated with a taped ring plate in sections to set off the cheeks. The drum legs have swollen teeth, and the corners between the teeth and the legs are carved with scroll clouds, with inverted horseshoe feet and supporting mud underneath. Above the bed surface, there is a five-screen bed circumference with a frame inlaid with a heart. Inside the leather ribbon ring, there are embossed patterns of bergamot, longevity peach, and pomegranate, implying “multiple blessings,” “multiple longevity,” and “multiple sons.”
