[End stone gourd type inkstone]
End stone gourd type inkstone, late Qing Dynasty, 14.5 cm long, 9 cm wide, and 2 cm thick. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The inkstone is made of stone at the end, with a dark color. It is shaped like a gourd. The ink receiving area on the inkstone surface is smooth, and the upper end is deeply recessed into a rectangular pool. A groove is made below the middle of the back of the inkstone to cover the hands, and a stone skin is left on the bottom side. The inkstone is attached to a gourd shaped thin body lacquer box, and the box is inlaid with the word “Tuanshou” in blue jade
This inkstone is made in the late Qing Dynasty with exquisite texture and novel shape.
