Ming Huang Kesi Colored Cloud Golden Dragon Pattern Women’s Cotton Gown is made in Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty, with a body length of 139 centimeters, a total length of 174 centimeters at both sleeves, a cuff of 21 centimeters, a hem of 118 centimeters, and a train length of 81 centimeters. The imperial robe has a round neck, a large lapel and a right lapel, horseshoe sleeves, and a connecting sleeve at the joint between the sleeve and the body. It has a draped collar and shoulder protection, with a train opening from left to right. The robe is woven with five golden dragons around the body using the tapestry method of “opening the meridian and breaking the weft”, with a multicolored cloud bat pattern interspersed. The robe is also woven with a halo pattern using colored weft threads. Auspicious clouds, Pingshui, and Lishui are woven in three, four, and nine colors, respectively. The edge of the garment is inlaid with stone cyan and lotus veins woven with gold satin edges, with no clouds on the back.
