Copper Plated Gold Dragon Spray Ball Five Son Lotus Arrest Bell

[Copper Plated Dragon Spray Ball and Five Child Lotus Arrest Bell]

Copper Plated Dragon Spray Ball and Five Child Lotus Arrest Bell were made in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, with a total height of 99 centimeters, a face width of 45 centimeters, and a thickness of 35 centimeters
The clock is divided into three layers, and the whole body is copper plated with gold and carved with fine patterns. In the center of the front of the bottom floor is the auspicious pattern “Five Children Seize the Lotus”, which means “many children.” A child holds a lotus seed and stands in a lotus jar, with four children beside him in the shape of seizing the lotus. On both sides of the picture are four character couplets that can be changed twice, namely, “Rain and Wind Bring Prosperity to the Country, Peace to the People”, and “Eight Directions, Nine Lands Bring King”. The middle floor of the clock is a building with two red painted doors. The upper end of the door is made of copper work in the shape of a voucher door, and the left and right sides are carved with Western style columns. The door can automatically open under the mechanical linkage. Inside the door, there is a coiled dragon with its head raised and mouth open. The faucet is covered in a trumpet shaped glass cover with a red ball inside. After the movable gadget device is strung, an airbag in the movement gradually fills with air. At the other end of the airbag, there is an exhaust hole connected to the dragon mouth, and the gas released from the dragon mouth impacts the small red ball, causing it to float. “Due to the variable strength of the gas emitted by the airbag, the ball fluctuates, but there is always enough strong gas to keep the ball afloat until the string relaxes, the gas is no longer replenished, and the ball also falls.”. Connecting the bottom and middle layers of the clock is a platform surrounded by colorful umbrella-shaped stone flowers, with three copper inlaid colored stone flowers on the front. The top layer is a clock with three needles carried by two deer, and the top of the clock is decorated with umbrella-shaped colored stone flowers
After the back of the bottom layer is strung, the music rises, the couplets change, the flowers rotate, and all the umbrellas rotate. The two red doors open themselves, and the coiled dragon performs a spray ball
The mechanical device of this clock is complex, especially the design of the dragon spit ball part, which is particularly exquisite. It is a treasure in Guangzhou Bell.
