[Purple ground ground color pastel painted gold with supporting cup]

Purple ground color pastel painted gold with supporting cup, Qing Qianlong, height 28 cm, caliber 7.8 cm, foot diameter 7.9 cm
The Juice Cup has a flat, long, round mouth, two columns, and a round spherical column top with a tail and a flow, a deep belly, a curved lower belly, a small flat bottom, and three legs that lean outward. There is a raised mountain shaped pillar in the middle of the tray, and the three grooves of the pillar exactly support the three legs of the Jue, with three long arc-shaped legs at the bottom of the tray
The exterior of the Jue Cup and the tray are all covered with carmine purple glaze, while the interior wall of the Jue Cup and the bottom of the tray are both covered with blue ground. The decorative style of the Jue Cup is the same as that of the tray, with a rolling process for shading. The Jue Cup is divided into several parts by a pastel yellow string pattern or a yellow ground blue hook lotus pattern belt: the cup body is painted with a gold Kui dragon pattern in pastel color, the upper part of the foot is painted with an animal face pattern, and the lower part is painted with a variant cicada pattern. The mountain shaped pillars in the plate are painted with blue and white sea water, river cliffs, and longevity peach patterns. The inner bottom, outer edge, and outer wall of the plate are painted with Kui dragon patterns, echoing the jue cup decoration. The center of the plate bottom is left blank with the blue and white “Qianlong Year” four-character seal script payment
This cup is modeled after three generations of bronze ware. The production and use of porcelain jue cups as sacrificial utensils was a common practice in the Ming and Qing dynasties. This type of jue cup with a tray was first known to be seen in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. The Yongle blue and white dragon pattern jue cup and plate were unearthed at the Jingdezhen imperial kiln site. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, there was also production. According to the records of the Qing palace, in the eighth year of the Qianlong period (1743), the imperial kiln ordered the firing of “foreign color” vessels, including such cups, one of which was made of carmine purple and one of which was made of yellow, and the other was made of embossed brocade and Kui patterns. The production was extremely exquisite. There are also blue and white objects seen, and similar objects were also imitated during the Guangxu Dynasty.
