Open plate, shallow arc wall, circular foot. The whole body is decorated with blue and white flowers. Double lines are drawn along the inner and outer openings. The blue and white circles in the center of the plate are painted with pine, bamboo, plum, and mountain stones, surrounded by ganoderma lucidum and grass. The outer wall of the panel is painted with courtyard characters, with a lady sitting in the courtyard, and two children playing in the courtyard, with cave stones, bonsai, railings, and Chinese toon trees set off. On the outsole, there are six characters and three lines in blue and white seal script “made in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty”
During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, with the rise of the trend of imitating antiques, the Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Factory fired a large number of blue and white pine, bamboo, and plum patterned plates that were imitated from the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty. Their shape, size, and decorative layout were identical to those of the original tools, some with or without style. There are two types of styles, one with the “Xuande Year of the Ming Dynasty” style and the other with the “Qianlong Year of the Qing Dynasty” style
Compared to the Xuande Blue and White Plate, the imitation has a white glaze and bright blue and white color, while the Xuande Plate has a deep and peaceful blue and white color, with the effect of ink painting. The overall pattern of the imitation disk center is smaller than the original one, and the texturing method used in painting is used to express the three-dimensional sense of the mountains and stones. The mountains and stones appear relatively hard, while the painting methods of ladies and children are slightly restrained. In short, the Xuande blue and white plate has a free and elegant charm, while the imitations of the Qianlong period bear the characteristics of the Qianlong official kiln blue and white era.
