Yixing Kiln Purple Sand Clay Painting Tea Cooking Drawing Title: Qianlong Imperial Poetry and Culture Holding Pot, Qing Dynasty Qianlong, height 14.3 cm, caliber 6.5 cm, foot diameter 10.9 cm
The kettle has a curling mouth, a neckband, a sliding shoulder, a wide belly, and a flat bottom. A winding stream with a dragon shaped handle. The pot is attached to an umbrella shaped lid with a round bead button on top. Yellowish sand mud. Decorate a rectangular corner on both sides of the abdomen to polish. On one side, there is a poem written by Emperor Qianlong titled “Cooking Tea in the Rain and Sleeping in the Study Room” (the original poem can be found in Volume 9 of the “Preliminary Collection of Poems Made by Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty”), with a circular seal character “Qian” and a square seal character “Long” stamped at the end of the sentence. On the other side, there is a clay painting of tea cooking: Deep in the dense forest, it is drizzly, and a clear mountain spring flows down. On the small bridge leading to the hut, an old man holds an umbrella and hurries forward. The old woman in the house is leaning against the window and looking out, while the little waiter is busy cooking tea to welcome the return of the host. This kind of life scene is vividly displayed by the craftsmen in Yixing with exquisite mud, making the purple clay pot full of vitality.
