The square mouth of the pot, the square body of the cicada’s shoulder, the three curved flow, and the lower bearing four folded corners cover the foot. Attach a square cover with a bridge shaped button on top. Purple sand and mud, decorated with a full-bodied gold colored seal script, with a gold colored landscape character pattern painted on one side of the abdomen, and an excerpt from the five character poem “Remaining in the Rain, Remaining in the Rain, Remaining in the Mountain” written by the Emperor Qianlong on the other three sides: “The King made the remaining mountain residence in the rain, wearing exquisite stones on the spot, and hanging a towering spring on the eaves. Xiao Xu was also very pleased to come to Longjing yesterday.” On the outer bottom of the pot, the seal script was stamped with four characters in double lines, “Made in the year of Qianlong.”
The golden color imperial inscription on this pot has an ancient and precipitous style and suitable layout. It is an excellent representative work of the imperial purple sand tea pot, with its elegance and richness.
