[Embroidered Red Cliff Night Tour Map Axis]

Embroidered Red Cliff Night Tour Map Axis, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, 186 centimeters vertically and 46 centimeters horizontally
This image depicts the scene of Su Shi and his friends boating on the Red Cliff in the night, using multicolored silk threads, needle sets, needle rolling, and diagonal winding techniques, supplemented by pigments such as stone blue, stone green, and ochre. The picture has a hazy moonlight, steep peaks and cliffs, pines and winding winds, and vast waves and waters. Su Shi, together with his friends Buddha Yin and Huang Tingjian, sit in a boat and observe the beautiful scenery of rivers and mountains. Throughout the ages, we can feel the fleeting nature of time and the illusion of life. The ink book at the top of the screen reads:
Suddenly, he passes over Huangniban and raises a glass to invite two guests
A crane comes from the sky, and the clouds in the east are both white
The signature is “Qiao Zhiwen”, and the “Qiao Zhiwen” seal is embroidered on the red thread
After being relegated to Huangzhou in Hubei Province in the middle of his life, Su Shi, a literary magnate of the Northern Song Dynasty, visited Chibi near Huangzhou twice and borrowed materials to chant his thoughts. He composed two pieces of “Chibi Fu” and one piece of “Niannujiao Chibi Nostalgia”, both of which have become a masterpiece for ever. The story of Su Shi’s visit to Chibi has also become a common theme in later calligraphy, painting, and handicrafts.
