This Ruyi imitation three inlaid Ruyi shape is painted with cloud bat patterns on a blue-green glaze, and exquisite gold colored hollow patterns are decorated on Ruyi’s head, abdomen, and tail. The first part is composed of five bats holding Shou, the middle part is composed of two bats holding Shou, and the tail part is composed of four bats holding Shou. The handwriting of Shou characters in the three parts is different. On the back of the handle, there are six characters in the seal script “Made in the Qianlong Year of the Qing Dynasty” in Yangwen
This Ruyi utensil has a regular shape and beautiful glaze color. The production of Ruyi porcelain stored in the Qing court is similar to that of ordinary palace porcelain. First, the Ruyi Museum under the Inner Government Manufacturing Office drew a painting sample, which was approved by the emperor and then sent to the Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Factory in Jiangxi Province for firing. Therefore, the quality is high. The use of carving techniques on pastel colored porcelain has emerged since the Qianlong period, and is very rare due to the difficulty of the process. The use of carving techniques on this handle of porcelain, Ruyi, shows the emperor’s love for such objects.
