[The Book of Shou Ji for Kusi Vowel Sounds]
The Book of Shou Ji for Kusi Vowel Sounds, in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, is 29 centimeters vertically and 30 centimeters horizontally. The old collection of the Qing Palace
This album is on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Emperor Gaozong Hongli in the 55th year of Qianlong’s reign in the Qing Dynasty (1790). The Ministry of Internal Affairs sealed 120 auspicious longevity words compiled by He Shen, the Great Scholar of the Wenhua Hall, and others into seals. Then, Hu Jitang, the Minister of Justice of the Ministry of Justice, used a skilled craftsman to carve them into a seal and present them to the Emperor Qianlong’s birthday ceremony. The work is woven on a pink ground using techniques such as flat tapestry, structural tapestry, and overlapping tapestry. The album is 17 pages in total. The official script “Yuanyin Shouzhi” in the ink script on the beginning of the volume is used, and the border is decorated with three blue script patterns of pine, crane, cloud, and ten thousand characters. The main text is the “Long Life Boundless” and other 60 square ink and white seal scripts in Zhu Ke and regular script in ink Ke. At the end of the book, the “minister Hu Jitang” and “Jingmo” seals are engraved on the Zhu script, and the “Baoyun Lou Zang” seal is affixed
The decoration of this work is simple and elegant, the printed text is sparse and clear, and the lines are smooth. The 120 characters of “Shou” with different writing styles not only reflect the superb tapestry techniques of the Qing Dynasty, but also reflect the unpredictable magic charm of ancient Chinese epigraphy.
