[Kesi Qianlong Imperial Poems and Flowers Collection]
Kesi Qianlong Imperial Poems and Flowers Collection, Qing Qianlong, 36cm in length and 22cm in width. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The album is composed of eight blooms of Magnolia, Rose, Peach Blossom, Wangchun Flower, Hewei Spring (known as Paeonia lactiflora in ancient times), Pomegranate Flower, Zidong Flower, and Narcissus on the natural ground. Each frame is composed of a seven-character quatrain poem made by the Emperor Gaozong in official script. Under the poem, the words “Qi Wu”, “Cong Yun”, “Han Xu Lang Jian”, “Love Zhu Xue Xin Xu”, “Hanglu”, “Understanding Not Far Away, De Chong Fu”, and “Yun Xia Si” are respectively woven in Zhu Bai script “In my spare time, I am facing the pool.”
The tapestry of this album is simple, woven with flat tapestry and structured tapestry, but the tapestry is meticulous, using blue, white, dark green, and other colors to complete the picture. The strokes are used to render the yin and yang facing back of the branches and leaves, which is calm and elegant, and the flowers are realistic and vivid. From the perspective of painting techniques, this 8-page album includes both the traditional meticulous and heavy color method, as well as Yun Shouping’s coloring and boneless method. It belongs to the “courtyard style” flower and bird painting of the Qing Dynasty. The seal includes the “Treasure of the Emperor Qianlong”, “Shiqu Treasure Collection”, “Shiqu Definite Collection”, “Re compiled Treasure Collection”, “Xuantong Treasure of the Emperor Qianlong”, “Sanxi Hall Precise Seal”, “Yi Zi”, “Qianqing Palace Treasure Collection”, and “Qianlong Appreciation” Zhu seals. Five letters and eighteen volumes of “Shiqu Treasure Collection Continuation” are described.
