Respect your mouth, tighten your neck, bulge your belly, and curl your feet outward. The shoulders are symmetrically attached to the victim’s ears. The glaze color, shape, and decoration of this utensil are modeled after the style of ancient bronze ware, and the bottom is engraved with three lines and six characters in the inscription “Made in the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty”
During the Qianlong period, porcelain production flourished, and special techniques were highlighted in the production of porcelain, such as imitation lacquer ware, imitation bamboo wood ware, imitation ancient bronze ware, and imitation of various fruits, conch, and other elephant shaped porcelain. The imitation is not only similar in shape, but also similar in glaze color and texture to the real object. The innovation of this porcelain making process was attributed to Tang Ying, the then pottery governor. This statue has a calm and matte colored glaze as the background, with yellow spots flashing in the dark green background, rust spots, and unique patterns on bronze, fully displaying the characteristics of simplicity and elegance.
