Yellow ground blue and white vase with intertwined branch patterns is a Qing Dynasty Qianlong vase with a height of 19.8 cm, a caliber of 9.2 cm, and a foot diameter of 11.3 cm
Bottle skimming, short neck, flat round belly, and circular foot skimming. The inner wall is painted with turquoise green glaze. The outer wall is decorated with yellow ground blue and white flowers. The lower edge of the mouth is painted with rolled grass patterns, the neck is painted with banana leaf patterns and dot patterns, and the shoulder is painted with echo patterns and Ruyi cloud head patterns. The upper and lower abdomen is painted with a lotus pattern with tangled branches, and the middle part is carved with a “T” shaped pattern of hollowed upside down lotus. A small bottle is sleeved inside the bottle and connected to the outer bottle mouth, which can be rotated. The small bottle has a purplish red color as the ground, and is painted with a plum tree. The circle foot is painted with turquoise green glaze, and the blue and white seal script “Made in the Qianlong Year of the Qing Dynasty” is written in three lines and six characters
This bottle is hollow in the middle and not connected to each other. It can be slightly moved, but cannot be disassembled. This process is known as “Jiaotai”, implying “unity between the upper and lower levels, peace in the world, and good luck in all things.” According to Tang Ying’s memorial, it can be seen that in the eighth year of Qianlong’s reign (1743), Tang Ying, the pottery supervisor, and Xie Zao’s urging general manager, Lao Ge, “a total of nine pieces of exquisite interlayered Jiaotai bottles were newly made, and I respectfully submit them to Beijing for submission.”. This Jiaotai Rotary Heart Bottle should be one of them. This was created by Tang Ying to please Emperor Qianlong
