The sitting statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva in Dehua Kiln

[Dehua Kiln Avalokitesvara seated statue]

Dehua Kiln white-glazed children worship the statue, clear, 26.5 cm high, 13.5 cm wide
The story of the Goddess of Mercy boy worshipping Goddess of Mercy comes from the Huayan Sutra – Entering the Dharma. It is said that the elder of Fucheng has 500 children. One of them is called good fortune because of the natural gushing of various treasures from the ground when he was born. Later, he believed in Buddhism, visited 53 famous teachers including Guanyin, and finally realized his wish. In the Buddhist themes of the Ming and Qing dynasties, people mostly chose to take good fortune and worship Guanyin to show it
This good fortune boy is naked, with a ribbon hanging from his head, smiling, hands folded, and salutes Guanyin. Guanyin wears a cape, holds a lotus stem in her left hand, and touches her knee with her right hand. She sits on the lotus platform. There are lotus flowers, lotus leaves and waves under the lotus platform
