Picture scroll of Yuzhiding Bamboo Wave Pavilion

[Yuzhiding Bamboo Waves Pavilion]

Bamboo Waves Pavilion Volume, Qing Dynasty, Yuzhiding painting, silk, color, vertical 38.4 cm, horizontal 148 cm
The bottom left of this picture is titled “A Portrait of the Tripod of Yu in Guangling”. The print is unclear. From the postscript on the tail paper, we can see that it looks like the main name of Yuan Coyett, with the word “tree garden”. This person is waiting for the exam. It can be inferred from the time of Wang Shu across the river that “Bingchen is the elder brother of Fengshupu in autumn and September” that Bingchen was the 15th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1676), and Yu Zhiding was 30 years old. This picture should be Yu’s early work. After that, there are inscriptions by Wang Shu, Chen Bing, Shen Deqian, Wang Linren, Wang Yuchang, Qian Zhongxin and others
In the picture, the waterside pavilion is set up near the bank, with a bamboo curtain half rolled, the wind whistling outside the house, surrounded by green bamboos, the lotus blooming in the pond, the fish swimming in the water, the two egrets at the pond are at ease, and the deer hide behind the rocks to spy. Like the Lord sitting under the bamboo tree, drinking and chanting poems, there is a little boy washing inkstone beside the pool, which conveys the artistic conception of “it is the time when the lotus is quiet and cool”
The composition of the work is fine, dense and neat, meticulous and heavily colored, the colors are thick and colorful, the bamboo trees are double-checked and colored, the face of the figure is outlined in ink, the light color is haloed, and the clothing pattern is folded in many ways.
