Yuzhiding Zhang Luweng

[The portrait of Zhang Luweng of Yu Zhiding]

The portrait of Zhang Luweng, the painting of Yu Zhiding in the Qing Dynasty, silk version, color setting, 49.7 cm vertically and 212.3 cm horizontally

The inscription in the heart of the painting said: “Mr. Fang Bozhang took the sentence of ‘The clear pool last month is suitable for my chest.’ as the title, it is a supplement to the statue. It was written by Yu Zhiding, a descendant of Guangling.” The seal was “Yu Zhiding seal”, “Bai Wenfang seal”, and “Shang Ji”, Zhu Wenfang seal. Gengchen was the thirty-ninth year of Kangxi (1700), and Yu Zhiding was 54 years old

The outline of the five features of the hero in the painting is outlined in light ink, and then slightly dyed in ink, and then colored. The clothing pattern is painted with blue leaves, and the light and weight are changed, which is vivid

The portrait of Yu Zhiding not only pays attention to both form and spirit, but also reflects the specific character of the characters through the description of their environment. According to Yu’s own inscription, he completed the portrait at the request of the portrait owner, with the image of the poem “The clear pool last month, suitable for my chest and opportunity” in the poem “Tokyo to Wanchu” by Li Qi of the Tang Dynasty as the background. The bright moon on the picture is clear and the water flow is slow. The quiet and serene environment created appropriately reflects the indifferent and tranquil attitude of the image owner. According to the research of scholars, the image owner is Zhang Lin. See Song Jian’s “< Zhang Luweng’s Image> Who is the image owner”
