[Rhinoceros carved landscape figure cup]
Rhinoceros carved landscape figure cup, early Qing Dynasty, 10.8 cm high, 16.1 caliber × 9.4 cm
The cup is carved from Asian rhinoceros horn, dark brown, with an oval mouth, open mouth, wide flow part and small bottom. The mouth is embossed with a large dragon. The head of the dragon is finely carved. The hair is as fine as hairline, the eyes are sharp, the mouth is slightly open, the teeth are firm and the claws are sharp. A small dragon was carved along the inner edge of the stream, and the neck was shrunk and the head was raised, as if to jump out of the cup. The cup handle is carved pine trunk and rock. The body is carved with a continuous mountain view, pine, tung, cypress and maple trees mixed into a forest, and the ancient trees are towering. The mountain waterfall flows down to form a stream with gentle breeze and rippling water. The stone steps in the mountains can be seen faintly, and the clouds and mist are filled at the top, which seems to lead to a fairyland on earth. Three figures are carved on the body of the weapon. A child carries two packages across the river and puts them beside the river. Then he carefully pulls a line of old people to cross the river with branches. A man on the opposite side is pulling up his trouser legs to prepare to cross the river. This cup is made with exquisite workmanship and its decoration is full of natural charm
