This is one of the farming atlases. This painting depicts Yin Zhen (Prince Yong)’s Fujin spinning in the southern countryside. Yong Zheng wrote a poem in his own handwriting on the “Painting of Cultivating and Weaving”. In this picture, the combination of five-character rhythmic poetry with profound artistic conception and elegant and vigorous calligraphy has achieved a perfect unity of poetry, calligraphy and painting. Yin Zhen asked the painter to draw this picture and paint himself and his family as hard working farmers and silkworm wives, which should be to cater to his father, Emperor Kangxi, who attached importance to farming and mulberry.
